Kiss of Midnight

Blurb:

He watches her from across the crowded dance club, a sensual black-haired stranger who stirs Gabrielle Maxwell’s deepest fantasies. But nothing about this night---or this man---is what is seems. For when Gabrielle witnesses a murder outside the club, reality shifts into something dark and deadly. In that shattering instant she is thrust into a realm she never knew existed--a realm where vampires stalk the shadows and a blood war is set to ignite.

Lucan Thorne despises the violence carried out by his lawless brethren. A vampire himself, Lucan is a Breed warrior, sworn to protect his kind--and the unwitting humans existing alongside them--from the mounting threat of the Rogues. Lucan cannot risk binding himself to a mortal woman, but when Gabrielle is targeted by his enemies, he has no choice but to bring her into the dark underworld he commands.

Here, in the arms of the Breed’s formidable leader, Gabrielle will confront an extraordinary destiny of danger, seduction, and the darkest pleasures of all…

My thoughts:

This book had me pulled into this world right from the start. Even though I was pulled in during the beginning of this book I found myself comparing this to the Black Dagger series but this book ended up taking on its on unique story. There were a few similarities and I found myself comparing some of the Warriors to the Brothers. But overall this was a very captivating, exciting read that really pulled me in and I had a hard time putting it down. Very well written story with very well developed characters. The history of the Breeds and the Rogues is very intriguing. I do have the next 2 books in this series and will get to them eventually I may wait until I have the 4th book and read them all in sequence.

Mini-Challenge:New to Me-- This author and series were both new to me. I picked it up because I was in the mood for a good vampire story. I will for sure read more by this author.

I love this series, I have read the first three books in this series but haven't had a chance to read the one that came out last week.  I found out about her books by accident late last year and I have been hooked ever since.
