This is the third book in the Aisling Grey paranormal novels. The series follows a supposedly normal woman who is trying to be a courier for her uncle but then discovers by accident that she is not only a would-be courier but other things too. She has developed her skills as a Guardian and is a mate to the green dragon, Drake. Their realtionship has been a lot on-off after Aisling discovers things regarding Drake and then leaves him for a while before getting it on with him due to the circumstances she finds herself in.
Aisling is now a Demon Lord, A wyvern's (dragon) mate and a Guardian all in one. She doesn't find being all three all that easy. Luckily she has moved to London to study all things Guardian with her mentor Nora. A new start is exactly what she is after with this move after another supposed betrayal by Drake, her mate. Though she is supposedly immortal she is unable to take another beating of the heart.
Because she is still officially Drake's mate--and dher presence is required for a meeting of the Green Dragons, she doesn't know how she will keep her distance from Drake, the fire-breathing hunk is beyond her. It doesn't help that several annoying attepts have been made on her life. Ot that she is wanted by the entire Otherworldly population of imps since Jim, her doggie demon sidekick ate their ruler by accident. Being an alpha dragon and all, Drake is sure to get protective of her--which might not be a bad thing when war breaks out and all hell breaks loose..literally.
I enjoyed this book. The relationship Aisling has with her demon, Jim is so sweet sometimes and sometimes hilarious that you can't help laughing out loud. The taxi driver, Rene is a puzzle as his identity has not been revealed although he is definately not human as was proven by his still being alive after a vicious beating by an Otherwordly being. He is also always turns up just when Aisling needs some transport or some help. Drake and Aisling relationship is very HOT!!! The sexual scenes written were electric and loved reading their realtionship develop and then stall as it is prone to do. Aislind also gains a new responsibility that she is definately oppose to.
I love the way Aisling is so clueless regarding her 'profession' and hwo she literally jumps into certain situations and then learns who she is more better instead of reading the literature given to her by certain individuals regarding here responsibilities and which explains the different sectors of the hell dimension more in detail. The last handful of pages are very dramatic and leaves you at the edge of your seats and wanting to know more regarding the consequences of the events that occur there.
This is a very good series to read. Each book follows the other. In each book there is a mention of certain events that occurred in previous books but are equally explained in the individual book read. I read this series in order. I had the last book in this series already in my possession but I waited until I had this book in my possession so I could read them in order. It was very hard for me to wait. I thought it was worth it!!!!!!!!
Fantastic read and Katie MacAlister rocks!!!!
