as a mom, my worst fear is to have my child be abducted. when i read the synopsis for this story, i knew i had to order it! garnet's daughter was abducted by her ex-husband. julian's dad is a mailman and thinks that he spots the girl from one of those Missing Children postcards that he delivers. he can't be sure and julian's a cop on vacation visiting his parents, so he gets involved...very involved.
i usually lean toward books that are emotional and a little more descriptive, so when i pick up a book that is "spare"--one or two words tell you what you need to know--i tend to want more. but then, as i get into it, i can read it so fast and the story just keeps moving because you don't get caught up on the descriptions and you get into a rhythm and before you know it, you are down to the wire. this was a very quick read. but very enjoyable.
i could totally relate to garnet's character. i loved the whole extended family. all in all, i totally recommend this book, especially to moms!
for me, one sign of a truly great book is when i am still thinking about the characters and wishing that i could go back and visit them a few days after i read the final page!
