Rereading this and so can count it this year as one, especially seeing as I had a few thoughts for discussion. If you haven't already read this far in the series you might like to skip the rest of this as there is spoiler-like speculation The "interview" between the Scribe Virgin and Butch – do you think (given what we've found out since about the SV and Vishous) she liked Butch so much because he was V's friend and so good to him? We also learn that Butch is related to Wrath, and in LU Jane has the strong impression she already knows Butch, and yes he's been to the hospital morgue a lot, but Jane would be too busy to hang around the morgue, could she possibly know Butch's father? Was Butch his only child or is Manny Butch's half-brother on their father's side? I'm also fascinated at the whole Wrath/Butch relationship which is very much glossed over to my mind, so I think we might see more in future books – I mean Wrath is how Butch got into the BDB (despite the fact that it was Vishous who proposed him as a candidate) – it was Wrath nearly strangling Butch outside the police station that started them off. I'd love more slices of life with Butch and the others because he's the one they've all accepted as a newcomer but he and V and R are a happy threesome for going out together, he's comfortable enough with Wrath to tell him when he's worried about V, he and Z bonded in the search for Bella and although the brother we've seen least of with Butch is Phury, we might see more in L En in June. I don't know, now that Butch has become a Brother, whether finding a vampire half-brother would make him feel even more part of the family. I think he's written off his human family and just counts all the BDB as his new family without bloodlines as such having much to do with it. Looking forward to more babies in the house – though with Beth being at least four years away from her first needing, I probably shouldn't hold my breath. There's nothing to stop Butch and Marissa though. I also thought it was clever doing Butch's story before V's because the other way round Butch might not have become a vampire, and V and Marissa might have come to an "arrangement" about mutual feeding.

You said this is a "too soon" re-read and can't count
but by posting it in the "Book Review" section (that's where we are now, right????) didn't it already get counted? So, do we need to find the discussion in someone's "personal" blog?

"Too soon" reread
Where did I say that? I said I could count it once despite the fact I've reread it several times this year
I
didn't give a summary because if you haven't read the Brothers you
shouldn't start with this one, and if you have you don't need a summary
I'm
not trying to get used to the new way, just blogging and posting books
for the moment - and copying stuff from oldcommunity (like Cabin
Pressure and other priceless gems)

Interesting...
I've been waiting for more to develop about Butch's father (if he's related to Wrath - but Wrath is the last of his line and an only child... how does that work?) - unless I missed something in the books. I haven't read them in a while :-X Or I skip parts.
As to Manny... also interesting theory. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this "more and more" thing - John'll probably get his own book (and what's going on with him?!), and who knows - Rhev... etc. While I like reading all these books there might be potential for "too much of a good thing" going on. I wasn't so happy with V's book - and I think the SV is one tough cookie. I'm hoping Phury's story changes from the hints/teases in V's book, otherwise I won't be able to take it.
Wrath
is the last of the direct line but it's not inconceivable there'd be
a couple of cousins and the like so and Butch's mother remembers the
guy fondly and she was a nurse and B's father a surgeon, which is why I
think Jane might actually have worked with him.
According to Warden there are at least 10 books in the works and she'll keep going as long as they keep "talking" to her.
I
can't stand the SV, but then I don't have to. JM will get his book, as
will Rhev, probably Payne, Lassiter, don't know whether Blay given his
inclinations will be a main story or a subplot, and don't really mind
which as long as we get his story
I loved V's book, and am
at the waste ;-))
intrigued by the Chosen twist, but I've been concentrating on Phury
during my recent rereads because with the focus on the others he had
tended to fade into the background, so I remember most how he was there
for Wrath overseeing the wedding ceremony, for Rhage when he needed
distraction from his beast, for V and Butch, and for Z and he retrieved
Darius' book so Z could give it to JM, so without having the burning
desire to read his story per se that I had with Z, Butch and V (less so
Wrath and Rhage), my curiosity button is beginning to glow with
impatience. dying to know more about Qhuinn's sex life and of course
Blay playing for the other team (which definitely generates a
Given
the way she writes and keeps finding out more, I don't think she'll let
it become "too much of a good thing", but after all it did happen with
Patricia Cornwell and the Kay Scarpetta stories so it's not impossible,
but I reckon highly improbable for the next five years or so and by
then there'll be other must-buy authors on the shelves

No harm done
It's just that I never even thought that, so couldn't work out why I would have said it
