I knew about the ending so I was weary of reading the book. Also I didn't like Butch's story and didn't want to read about him again. Vishous I was more curious about, but his story didn't keep my interest and Phury's story in Lover Enshrined I'm not looking forward to either. However, I do like John and can't wait to read more about him.
The story: It is Vishous' story. He is still in love with Butch, struggles with his past and his destiny. When he gets shot he ends up under Dr. Jane Whitecomb's care. His true mate, but it seems he is not allowed to keep her, and not because she is human...
Lover Unbound is not a bad book, and will definitely satisfy the fans, for others it is okay to while away the time. Just don't expect anything new. J. R. Ward's world building is impressive, but the stories are repetitive. Her characters might have been initially all very different, but when it comes to their own stories they all behave the same. Tough on the outside and marshmallows on the inside. J. r. Ward is moving into hardcover. I won't follow. I might continue reading her, but I'm not spending big money on her books.
