She's a single mom, whose child was conceived by rape. The hero's child is best friends with her daughter. The hero's child needs loving and goes to the heroine as a mother influence. The hero at first is angry with the heroine, thinking she's weedling herself into his life to try to snag a rich husband. But soon he sees her as a great mother and wants her as a mother for his own daughter, who sadly needs someone badly! They enter a marriage of convenience, but it's complicated by their growing feelings/desire for each other.
Can the marriage of convenience work if they want sex to be part of it? And she's got her issues about being raped to deal with. It's an ok read, the story seems like an 80s kind of story, and the rape plot of course is unpleasant to think about. But it's still written in a good, natural, sensitive way that explores the characters feelings nicely.
Rating: 3/5 stars, a decent read.
