MAKE-BELIEVE COWBOY (Bright Lights, Big Sky series, book 1) by Terry McLaughlin, HSR #1372, Sep06

My Thoughts: Since I read Maybe, Baby first (book 3)--and really enjoyed it--I decided to hunt down the first 2 books. This one is Ellie and Fitz's story and probably my least favorite of the series but it was still a good read.

I didn't like Ellie so much. I just couldn't put myself in her place. She was a good, caring, hard-working person and a single mother with a lot of responsibility. But I felt she "trapped" herself in reality; not allowing her self to want more than she already had.

I loved Fitz. He was exactly the kind of man that most women want--fun-loving, hard-working, sincere, good-looking, intelligent, etc. But for me, his most important quality was being a dreamer--in a good way. He had the ambition and drive necessary to make his (and other people's) dreams come true.

And the rest of the characters were great as well. I liked getting the first glimpses of the the characters in the other 2 books.

Synopsis: To save the family ranch, Ellie Harrison decides to rent it out to a Hollywood film crew. Actor Fitz Kelleran isn't prepared for Ellie or her daughter Jody when he goes to Montana for the shoot. Ellie, seemingly immune to the actor's charms, is a spitfire not willing to let Hollywood's big star intimidate her. If they can get past their preconceptions, they might discover a dream bigger than either of them could ever imagine...
