This book was tamer than I thought it would be. Given the title and back cover, I was expecting some interpersonal conflict and a lot of sparks flying. I mean, this is Blaze after all. Instead, what I got was an overly niced-up heroine who got along surprisingly quickly with the guy she was supposed to tame. Most of the conflict ended up being external, but even that failed to add an element of danger/taboo. The back cover said it was chick-lit, Blaze-style, but it was neither. This would have been more appropriate for a Harlequin Romance, not Blaze. I would really love to see more chick-lit, Blaze-style, but it can't just been thinly veiled genre romance, ya know?
Not that it was bad, or anything. It just wasn't terribly hot. Even the chocolate-covered strawberry scene came off as contrived instead of arousing. And I usually really go for chocolate-covered strawberries...
