The Marriage Wish by Dee Henderson - Steeple Hill - 1998

Wow! This was an excellent book! Dee Henderson is a mthe marriage wishaster at showing conflicting emotions. She gets right into the soul of her characters and brings them to life as if you were watching a movie instead of reading a book.  This is the 1st novel I've read of Dee's but you can be sure it won't be my last! This book is going straight to my Top 10 list!

It's a wonderful story about 2 people falling in love despite the odds. One has everything to give; the other can't seem to give up anything. Is the sacrifice worth it? What would you give up for eternal happiness?

It starts with successful Scott Williams celebrating his 38th birthday. But he's empty inside. He wants a wife...someone of his very own to cuddle and love and love him back. So, before blowing out his birthday candles, Scott makes a wish.

Successful author Jennifer St James is stuck in the harsh reality of life...people die...loved ones die and leave you behind to face the gut-wrenching pain of facing another day, month, year...alone. She doesn't want the fear that is a constant shroud around her, but she can't seem to let it go either.

Heat level: Romantic (You know before and after the ‘main event' and it refers to "sleeping with you", but because it is a Steeple Hill book, that's the extent of heat and I don't think it's enough to bump this book up to the ‘sensual' heat level. This book could easily come under the Love Inspired imprint.)

My Rating: Excellent !!!
