Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History by Molly Evans
Learning to let go
Well, it's February already and I have a lot of things to share with you all. Firstly, some of you will know from my website blog that I have three gorgeous miniature poodle puppies who are now coming up for six weeks old. I am so attached to them that I don't know how I am going to let them go, even though each of them are going to the best homes possible.
Deadlines... what excuses do you make?
Firstly, let me offer an excuse to those of you who are seeing the end of Monday. I have been trying to get to this blog all day long and yet one thing after another has prevented me... until now. For those of you who are waking up to the first day of February, sipping your coffee and rubbing your eyes - welcome.
Woo~hoo, we won!
Oh My Gosh!
THANK YOU!
All the MedRom Authors are totally stoked that you voted us the favourite Group Blog!!! We were totally blown away that we won the vote as we were up against some stiff competition.
We love calling by here and talking about everything from chocolate to television, from heroes to holiday destinations, and we love it when you call by and chat to us as well. So thanks very much for the support and we look forward to talking about lots of things in 2010. If you have any suggestions for topics we might tackle over the next year then post them here.

Many apologies for being late. The day got off to a bad start and I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to catch up with myself since!

THE GLASS HALF FULL by Amy Andrews
Apologies in advance for touting this blog as a photo fest. I forgot in my enthusiasm, or maybe its the jet lag, that you can only post one pic here at e-harl (if you can post more I haven't figured it out) Obviously I was thinking of our Love Is The Best Medicine blog.
The Lure of Family Legends by Sharon Archer
I should apologise up front – I love family history! I love oohing and aahing over old photos, trying to imagine what was going on behind those stern faces in the sepia wash pictures. What hopes and happiness, what dreams and disappointments?
I know it's the 18th... but
What an amazing last ten years it's been. Full of tragedies and triumphs in the world and we've all been impacted like never before by distant events to our own tiny circles thanks to digital technology. The fact that it was a new decade escaped me until the last moment and suddenly I was looking back. What about you?

Dear all
Happy New Year! May all your dreams come true. Here is a story about how mine did.
Let's Talk About Dreams by Molly Evans
If money were no object, and you had enough money to do what you wanted, what would you be doing right now? I can think of all kinds of things that I'd like to do with my time, such as travel to exotic places, a bigger house, helping others, and sending the kid to a college of his choice, rather than one we can afford to send him to.
Resolutions or Birth Plan???
New Year comes and with it, people start asking "what's your New Year resolution?" and my answer is "why do I need the New Year to make resolutions?"
Ringing in the New Year
Christmas celebrations often revolve around family customs and traditions, but in my family, our traditions don't stop on December 26. New Years' Day was a special event in our Volga German culture because early that morning (after breakfast and farm chores), we would make the rounds to visit relatives to "wuenche".
Writing continuities - Penhally and St Piran
I hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas - or a peaceful one
for those who find this time of year difficult - and that you have
recovered from an excess of turkey and Christmas pudding!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays!
Getting lost in your Dictionary can be hazardous to your health!
Have you ever been reading and come across a word you didn't know and thought, I'll just look that up? Or have you been writing frantically, forgotten how to spell a word, picked up your dictionary, thumbed through to the letter you need (saying the alphabet silently in your head to help you get there) and then found a word you didn't know and start reading your dictionary?
Joy To The World
Anyone want to wish Keith a Happy Christmas? More on that later...
And keeping on the Christmas Theme because I love it.
Some Down Under Festive Traditions
For the last ten weeks I've been writing a book (W/T) An Outback Christmas. The plan is for it to be to be on shelf next Nov/Dec for 2010 Christmas. I set it in outback Australia but my heroine is from the UK (thanks Kate Hardy for all the *brilliant* Pommie tips
) and this gave me the opportunity to really think about what are the Aussie Christmas traditions.

Readers becoming writers
Hi everyone,
Rather than talk about Christmas right now because I really don't want to be reminded of all I have to do, I thought I might raise the question of why it is that so many romance readers one day dream of becoming writers?
Ornaments
Christmas is definitely on my brain since we're drawing nearer and nearer to the big day. Loved Molly's post about Christmas memories. :) We put our family Christmas tree up this evening and I was struck by all the memories that hit me as I pulled out ornaments.

Fit for Nothing?
Admittedly it was taken a few years ago, but I unearthed this photo the other day and it reminded me that, once upon a time, I was a very fit person.
For years, I walked to and from school. Only a mile or so, and downhill was a doddle, but uphill coming home, heavily laden with homework assignments at the end of the day…! I only rode once a week, for half a day at weekends, but I swam a mile each day, too, until I went away to college where I discovered the joys of expending energy on the disco dance floor and lost the last of my puppy fat.
Unfortunately, the demands of marriage, children, work and life in general meant there was little time to keep up any sort of organised exercise regimen and I found myself struggling with the lack of flexibility that comes with the addition of weight and years.
It was only recently, when I’d reminded DH of his promise to go with me to learn to ballroom dance, that I thought to do something about it, idly Googling to see if there were any classes within reach and accidentally came across something called Ceroc.

The Prodigal Returns ... hopefully!
I'm sorry to be so late in the day, but if everything finally comes together and goes according to plan, I'm back! After what seemed like a never-ending drama and one delay after another after my computer went to the great scrapheap in the sky, things seem to be getting back to normal at long last.
What do women want?
Tall, dark and handsome or....................blonde?
The age-old debate. What do women really want? Are we wired to want tall, dark and handsome or is that a media perception? The men we see in ads and movies tend to be predominantly dark-haired - is it a case of demand or supply? Perhaps there are just more brunettes in the world!
Leaving On A Jet Plane
I have to agree with Diane in her previous blog - its my turn again?? Where did the month go?
The time is going so quickly now as we hurtle towards the end of the year and especially now it is 15 days until the family and I board a big jumbo jet and take off for London.
I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Growing Pains
Hello, again!
It's hard to believe that it's been a month since I last blogged, but it has, and I want to thank everybody who responded, and especially those who emailed me privately with their personal struggles and triumps with breast cancer. And to those of you who either got your mammogram or promised to, I applaud you!

You're Never Too Old To Try Something New
It turns out after twenty odd years of marriage that my husband had a secret desire that I only found out about at the end of last year.
Superstitious or Not?
The joys of dance by Kate Hardy
It feels a little bit odd to be writing about something so frivolous on Armistice Day – however, this isn’t the place for politics. So all I will say is a quiet thank you to those who gave so much, so that we could have a life with much more light in it.
Where Does the Time Go?
Family
Last month I was away in South Africa where I spent my childhood. I go back whenever I can as I have a older brother and sister who still live there and it's great to catch up with them. (Phone calls and email just aren't the same.)

Where does all the time go?
Once again, time has gotten away from me, which is one reason why my blog post is late! But as I'm almost certain that I'm not the only one who has had time get away from them, I'm hoping you all will forgive me.
