I had hoped that Sun Kissed would be followed by book that I could enjoy more, I was disappointed.
The story: Loni MacEwen is a psychic. Hiding from the media she settles in Crystal Falls, Oregon. There she has a vision of Clint Harrigan, the cowboy of her dreams. She knows she is about to get to know him in person and is scared. When she meets him for the first time and touches him she sees that his son is in danger and that only he can save his life. Problem is that Clint doesn't know of his son and refuses to believe her no matter how much he is attracted to her. But then he finds out that she was right and so he takes her on a trip into Oregon's wilderness to search for his son.
I used to be a huge fan of Catherine Anderson's books. I'd eagerly await every new release. Then I read Sun Kissed and wasn't very happy, but of course I gave her another chance. However, Morning Light is even worse. So what didn't I like? The initial conflict was only there for a few pages and in the end another conflict was conveniently, but not convincingly, introduced. As there was no conflict and the mutual attraction very early on agreed on the author had plenty of time (too much time!) to force all her research for this book upon the reader. The information was never boring, but so not necessary for the story. I felt no emotional connection to the characters and was not in the mood for all the inspirational/religious moments. I couldn't relate to their guilt (which didn't keep them from acting on their attraction) and probably will stay away from Catherine Anderson's future releases.
Series: Coulter/Harrigan
Rating: okay
