Moving Along - Nocturne Bites

Yesterday I finished my first draft. Woohoo! It's a werewolf piece for the Nocturne Bites line.  Gotta love sexy alpha males... Wink

Anyhow, I printed everything up this morning so I could get a better look at what needs correcting, and where I may have gaps to fill in. One of my least favorite parts of the process, but this is always the "tell all" for me, whether or not the book passes my own read through. If it's too boring or too slow, I'll spend more time rewriting it. Judging by what I've read so far, it just needs touch ups here and there. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed.

This will be my last project until after the Shreveport conference. All next week I have to work on cleaning up the first few chapters of the book I plan to pitch. Wish me luck!

Good luck, Cora!

I'm about 9K into my Nocturne Bite.  I'm on my first pass through, so once I get the whole story down, I'll be where you are, LOL!

And good luck with your pitch! What kind of story are you pitching?

Attempting one

I've also decided to attempt one...Whether it will be any good or not remains to be seen.  The story idea came to me in my car this morning.   I'm going to flesh it out a bit and then put it on paper.

Good luck ladies!

Awesome to meet you both!  Jodie it sounds like you're almost to the finish line! *pom pom cheer* Good luck to both of you with your stories! Cool

Right now mine is a few hundred words short of 13k, but I'm going back through my first draft now, doing a bit of rearranging and axing some of my crutch words: as, +ly words, like, still, just, etc... so I'm not sure what the word count will look like in the end. Too, I think I may have to rewrite the final scene. It reads like I'm missing something. Yikes! I'd hoped to have it cleaned up by the weekend, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to do the whole thing by then. Sealed

Jodie, I'll be pitching a paranormal romance that still currently working on to an agent. I have the book written to about chapter 5, but it's plotted through to the end. If all goes according to plans it will be my first full length novel, which I'm hoping will end up with Luna or Nocturne. We will see. *fingers crossed for luck* Smile
