Moving Target by Lori A. May

This is the next book in the Athena Force series, Chesca Thorne is an FBI profiler, Delphi brings her in to get a profile of Arachne – including a potential name.  As Chesca begins to profile and investigate Arachne, the danger increase.  Will becomes her bodyguard as the two continue to investigate Arachne, discovering more about her past and her co-conspirators.  Unfortunately, this book didn’t do it as well for me either.  The suspense was there, but no real character building.  As was the complaint with other Bombshells, I didn’t see any real relationship between the Will and Chesca.  It just never engaged me the way other bombshells have.  I think I will take a break from the Athena Force books, I have three library books that are due pretty soon, so I am going to try and read them next – Whitney Lyles’ Then Came Love, MaryJanice Davidson’s Sleeping with the Fishes and Julie Garwood’s Shadow Music or Dance (can’t remember what the title is, just that it is her newest hardcover.) Cady ‘s Books – 6

TBR--The Born Readers

I agree that this book was

I agree that this book was very weak, the weakest in the series so far. The writing was terrible and usually by the end of these books the couple is, officially, a couple; there was almost no romance in this one. The book advanced the overall series plot, but that was it. I wouldn't stop reading Athena Force because of this one book, though; the others have been much better.

I would agree it wasn't the strongest book, Lori May has written other books that I have enjoyed more.  The romance just seemed so superfacial.  The guy just didn't work as a hero to me.  I have to say as that bummed me a bit, as I thought the profiler book would be one to really pull me in.

This one...

really didn't work for me either.  I don't tend to look for the romance in the books so that aspect didn't bother me but the characters just seemed so... cold and distant, I guess is the best way to put it.  I don't know... just finished it so still processing why it didn't work for me.

Too much talk

Too much talk and not enough action. The story just didn't seem to move anywhere. I too have read others by this author that I really liked but this one wasn't it, I'm sorry to say.

Debs - sometimes the continuity books just don't work as well as other.  This one, unfortunately, just didn't.  I think it was what you said, there wasn't enough resolution for me and the romance didn't quite hit the mark for me.
