Mr. Perfect, by Linda Howard

Okay, I'm several years behind everyone else in reading this book...but better late than never. I've heard different views of Mr. Perfect over the years from Howard fans - some think it's her best work, others don't like it so much. I haven't read a lot of Linda Howard, but I thought this book was great.

Not always an easy read - the blend of laugh-out-loud humor, captivating romance, and chilling psycho stalker serial killer can be disconcerting, to say the least. As a certified wimp, I had to close my mind to the darker implications of the story and not think about how some of the gory stuff would affect the hero and heroine in the future.

But when it came to the romance, Mr. Perfect was an all-round winner, and I think the characters will stay with me for a long time. Especially the hero, who was absolutely gorgeous--I'm talking about his personality here, though I'm sure physically he was gorgeous too! A tough cop, quite capable of being a jerk, but when he fell in love, he fell hard and fast and didn't stop to think about it or second-guess himself.

A great read.
