My Love Hate Relationship with Blogging

This is only my second post here since setting up my profile. I've marked the two forums I frequent most, but haven't gone out exploring beyond that, even to hunt down the things people have told me to look for.

There's this thing called time, and me not having much. Anyone else?

I love blogging. I hate blogging. *g*

I have my personal blog, but that's the only place I post regularly. I work behind the scenes at two big sites with group blogs, but I don't post. Playing the wizard is work enough. I have started planning a group blog with some writing friends so we can talk fun stuff and not have to focus on careers and craft or anything related to the industry.

We just want to have fun.

Do you guys prefer one type of blog over another? Do you like writing blogs? Do you like to talk nuts and bolts of craft? Do you like talking books? Do you enjoy recommendations or do you get into dissecting plots, etc.?

Point me to some of what you guys think are the best blogs here at eHQ. I'd love to check them out.

All of the above

I really enjoy all of the points that you listed above.  I have noticed that people tend to comment more about personal blogs but I have no doubt that they are reading the reviews and just not commenting.  I think a good mix of both keeps a blog interesting.

There are many blogs/bloggers that I could list but I don't want to hurt feelings if I leave anyone out so I am only going to name one.  Vikki, v1978p, seems to emcompass many of the qualities that I find interesting in a blog and if you are looking for a good one to check out I would suggest hers.  Plus, she just reviewed "Tex Appeal" so I figure you have an added interest!  :)

I enjoy the blog on your author site.  What you do there is a great mix of personal and book related topics that doesn't seem to get boring.

Time.. can you expand the day

I have a blog on LJ that I very infrequently update now.  I have a blog for our experiences in Australia which I've been slow in keeping up to date. Now I have a blog here.  I'm not using this blog much but I am reading some of the forums.

I don't have time to try to keep another blog up to date.  I am working on  making sure I blog about the books I read since I would love to reach over 100 books for the year.  Last year I was going to join the challenge but got bogged down in writing reviews of the books I read.

There just isn't enough time in the day to keep up with all the reading that one can do.

Thanks for letting me know

Thanks for letting me know about the review.  I'll have to figure out how to find it, LOL!  Yeah for search functions!

I also think it helps if the author of the blog post interacts in the comments.  I don't do that enough on my personal blog and need to!

Since it goes to a good

Since it goes to a good cause, the 100K book challenge, I do want to blog here about what I read.  Unfortunately, I have 8 books I won't be able to blog about coming up because they are RITA books!
