My stats for the first half of '08

The title's a bit off, as it includes a couple of things read in July, but here are my YTD (as of this morning) stats. They exclude the children's books that I read to/with my kids, so the total and percents and so on are just the books that I chose for myself. (A note that if you click on my profile page right now, my total books read is 10 more than the 85 books that I'm using right now as my total read. So, those of you who haven't included your short reads -- remember to combine them -- can get the numbers up a wee bit. If 3000 of us add even one book b/c of combining short reads, that's 3000 books. If we all averaged 20 for the year, then hmmm, that's 60000. No, wait, that can't be right. 20 times 3 is 60, 20 times 30 is 600, 20 times 300 is 3000 oh! Hey PEOPLE! START INCLUDING YOUR SHORT READS -- JUST BE SURE TO COMBINE THEM! btw, I DO know that most of us are either including our short reads or don't have any short reads. Still . . . they do add to the total.)

Okay, back to my stats.

• I have read 85 books.
• Of those, 58 are H/S. That's 68% from Harlequin Enterprises.
• 44 were print, 27 audio, 14 eBook versions
• 29 were from my "old" TBR. That's 50% of my print and eBook total, 34% of my grand total.

Since I don't really count my audiobooks as being part of my TBR, I would say that I've read 50% from my older TBR. It's still a huge TBR. It fills 2 dresser drawers and parts of 2 or 3 shelves. sigh. But, I knew at the start of '08 that if I read at the same rate as '07, it would take about 2 years to get through my TBR. Still, 34% or 50% are good stats. I've been pretty good about not buying a lot of books this year. Despite the rest of y'all LOL!
