My Wildest Ride

The elite Martinis & Bikinis Club challenges you to risk it all. But once you pick a dare, there's no backing out!

I have to admit I was pretty intrigued with the premise of this series when I read about it on the back cover pages of a previous BLAZE. And then I bumped into Angela at the office clutching a copy of this and saying she'd heard GOOD things about it. From the twinkle in her eye, I knew I was in for a fun read especially when I saw it was Isabel's book. In fact we're probably going to be doing tag team reviews, so I'm hoping to beat her to the punch by nipping in here first.

Isabel writes in her Dear Reader letter, "This month the women of the Martinis & Bikinis Club chase away February blahs with their usual meeting, which includes sexually provocative Martini Dares, but also a surprise for my heroine Lindsay. She's off on the wildest ride of her life, thanks to sexy Denver Langston. Along the way she uncovers more Winfield family secrets and finally finds the key to real happiness.Hint: it's not staying home playing it safe."

MWR revolves around some family secrets and some pretty gritty issues dealing with growing up too young and too fast and overcoming bad choices. Boston Bar Owner Lindsay Beckham is determined to put her sordid past behind her, and her guilt, shame and reactions to Denver's patient but persistent interest all ring true. She's determined not to rely or trust anyone but herself, but somehow along the way, she learns that the power of love and family can work miracles. This book had mystery and suspense and some hot lovin' and a great happy ending that had me wishing that we had our very own local Martinis & Bikinis chapter...nah, I'd be too chicken! Can you HAVE February blahs in January??

Second place is the first loser

D'oh! I can't believe you beat me to this! Yeah, I'm going to read it. But I had a couple of other books on the go and Silent in the Sanctuary sitting atop my TBR pile just screaming to be read, so I haven't even picked this one up. Yet. Maybe later this week...as long as another book from the nasty TBR doesn't start yelling at me!
