New Time Sucks! or is it time-sucks? or timesucks? hmmmmmm....

1. Dark Shadows minisodes on YouTube. I never watched the show, but I've heard about it my entire life. Creepy and good!
2. eBay. o**o beat me, but man, that was fun!
3. Facebook. You can spend HOURS on Facebook. Way more fun than MySpace.

I started physical therapy today. Whew! The PT said it takes 1 week to recover from every day spent in bed. I spent 8 days in the Italian hospital bed without moving. I've been home two weeks. In six weeks I should feel normal. There's a light at the end of the tunnel!!!!

Good luck with PT.

good luck with PT and don't shirk as you will be sorry later. My PT wasn't covered by health insurance so didn't do as much as I should have and still feel the effects of a badly sprained ankle so I can't imagine how long it will take for you to recover but the therapist probably knows best.  It will be hard sometimes but worth the effort I'm sure.

Thanks!

I've heard the therapy will take a long time. Insurance agreed to 4 wks. in-house therapy and then it will switch to on site. The home health place wasn't sure what insurance would cover once it moved to on site. I'm so happymy mother-in-law talked to our family doctor about how hard it was for me at home. The doctor called the home health agency and the insurance to get this worked out for me. I'm sure I'll hurt later, but right now, I feel better than I have since the day I fell.

Hey Mary Beth - sending you good PT vibes

Wouldn't it be nice if it had the added benefit of making you more graceful? Innocent Wink

Graceful! me, me, me, me

Sadhbh, that would be a MIRACLE! :-) People have been trying to help me in the "graceful" department for years. My poor PE teachers. I was a "lost cause."  When we moved toTexas ALL the girls did gymnastics. They cartwheeled and back handspringed and round offed to their heart's content. I was lucky to do a forward roll. Soooo the coach (I still remember her name, Mrs.Moody, and I LOVED her) pulled out this cool mat with hands and feet on it to help me cartwheel. She promised if I just practiced, I'd get it. Never did. A year later we had a softball unit and Mrs. Moody promised I'd be able to hit the ball with the bat if I juts followed her instructions. Never did. :-) Then there's dance. I won't even go there. Suffice it to say Seinfeld's Elaine's got nothing on me. But I kicked butt with PT today. I leg lifted and crutched and crutched and I feel a MILLION times better.

Thanks Orchid!

habits, maybe one of those bad habits were brain synapses that will retrain themselves

If you think it positively, it can happen - I mean, you knew how to walk before but you had grace problems, if you can convince yourself that those grace problems will be a thing of the past ... Wink

It would be helpful not to be stuck in a foreign hospital again, wouldn't it? Innocent

You'll be the "little author that could (be graceful)" Cool

I can do it!!!

Thanks Sadhbh! That's exactly how I'm going to approach this. Because you are absolutely right. I don't want to be stuck in a foreign hospital again, and I'm defnitely still traveling (even though dh says no).
