No Place For a Lady by Louise Allen, Harlequin Historical Regency

Bree is running the family coaching business while younger brother is finishing school. One night Bree is driving the coach and ends up meeting an Earl. Older half-brother James is a part of society and will be marrying a society miss. James is afraid of being embarrassed by his half-siblings, but he needn't be--they clean up well.

The very first scene grabs the reader by the throat and starts shaking. Intense, riveting, exciting. Thank goodness, the author knew how to pace the book or this reader might have had a heart attack. There was a nice ebb and flow to the intensity. The book left me somewhat breathless with the number and type of conflicts thrown up between the H/h. This is definitely an author I will look for in the future. Thumbs up.
