this book was wonderfully written. the characters were very real. it was witty, clever. the whole thing was just soooo real.
basically, marta and her 9 year old daughter eva move from new york to a suburb of seattle and they don't fit in.
as a mom of an 8 year old girl, i tended to really personalize this book. at times i really related to marta and at other times, i related to taylor or some of the other society moms. it was a really moving book about raising girls in today's world and being a mom in today's society and all of the things that moms and women juggle and have to be aware of and think about.
Jane Porter
I love Jane Porter's writing. I don't know what it is about her but I think she could write about anything and I would enjoy it. I am anxiously awaiting her upcoming Presents.

i've never read one of her Presents.
i actually just became aware of her through CJ Carmichael's website. and i really enjoy her writing! i'm intrigued to see what someone who created a strong, independent female characte like marta would do with a Presents novel. can someone reccommend one of her Presents novels?
