Brodie Hayes is a former rodeo star, now a rancher--a cowboy, through and through. But when he finds out some shocking news about the circumstances of his birth, he begins to question his identity. Luckily, private investigator Alexandra Donovan is there to help him find the truth about who he is. Along the way, he discovers that even a man who thought he'd be alone for the rest of his life can fall in love.
For Brodie, love was something you did once--and for always. But is Alex the type of woman who can take on a stubborn man like him? Because there's one thing about him that will never change, no matter what they find out about his past--once a cowboy, always a cowboy.
This book was perfect! That's all I have to say. Simply perfect. Strong hero that had a tragedy in more ways than one. A sultry, but fun heroine. Even the minor characters were fun to read about! I know this book was from 2007, but I just got it in 2008, and I had to read it and I loved it.
I would love to get the other books for this series and read them! So Linda if you're reading, ship them to me, please? LOL! kidding! But yeah, Harlequin American Romance readers (I know you're out there; I can hear your collective, wishful sigh) even after a year, this book is definitely one to read

I just loved the plot twist at the end. Did not see that one coming. And the series is a keeper.
