Another really good Blaze.
From the back cover:
Sophie Jones can't believe her eyes when a blond Adonis by the name of Mark McCann steps forward to offer her a ride when her flight's canceled. Mark's deep Southern drawl spikes her pulse and she's willing to bet he'd make an incredible lover.
Mark's only too willing to oblige the lady. Until they realize they're chasing the same dream-a rich account that's critical to their respective companies. Now sleeping with the enemy ought to be absolutely out of the question for him and Sophie. But their bodies are telling them something else....
Argh
! Yet another book where the back cover is incorrect. First of all, Sophie asks Mark for a ride, he does not offer. Secondly, Mark really doesn't want to give her a lift and he turns her down. It's not until after he finds out that she represents the competition that he agrees. This is exactly why I try not to read the back cover before reading a book. Maybe I'm overreacting but it really bothers me when the back cover is inaccurate or misleading.
OK, now that I've got that off my chest, on with the review. Cathy Yardley is an auto-buy author for me. I've come to expect a really good story from her and this book definitely lived up to my expectations. Mark is a former male model trying to prove that he is more than just a pretty face and Sophie is doing her best to help her mother become successful in the cosmetics industry that had decided that she was too old, so for both Mark and Sophie, getting the account is more than business, it's personal. They were both very likable characters and I really felt for them and the position that they found themselves in. I thought their relationship was very sweet (if somewhat complicated). I also really liked the way that the story ended.
Rating: 4.75

Hi Karen, I read this one
Hi Karen,
I read this one last year, and quite liked it. I didn't know this was one of your favourite authors, though. It was the first book by Yardley that I had ever read.
I've read this one too ~ most of the way...
...through anyway. I got caught up in a couple of other books that I'd been waiting for and I just haven't got back to it yet. But I, too, really like Cathy Yardley ~ ever since I read L.A. Woman ~ a Red Dress Ink book ~ a few years ago. I've got all of her novels and all but three of her Blazes... the earliest ones. But someday....

Hi
Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I haven't been by for a while.
Michaela - Yup, she's one of the Blaze authors that I always buy. I just really like the way she tells a story.
Kathy - LOL! I try not to put aside books. When I do, I often never get back to them
. I haven't read that one. I never look at the RDI books (it's the whole trade-size issue
) but now that you've brought it to my attention, it does look good. Now, if only I could find it in MMPB...
LOL Karen...
I know just what you mean! There aren't many books that I get in the TPB size... well, other than LL's and Shiloh Walker's books... and Wendy Markham's Slighly series books... and the other odd one here and there. To be honest I'm not sure if the RDI books do come out in mmpb... do they?
I briefly had a subscription to the line aeons ago... when my oldest daugher would deign to read romances. There were a few that my oldest girls really enjoyed....

I don't know
if I have ever read anything by Yardley before. I will have to try to find this one and give her a try.
Thanks for the review!
