• Jacob is manning the old lodge motel after his father dies. He’d rather be back at his job in the Air Force as an in-flight mechanic, but he’s now guardian to his teenage sister, an unwed mother. 

• Dee wakes up in a motel room not remembering how she got there. Not even remembering who she is. Her only clue is a tarnished initial D pendant hanging on a cheap chain around her neck. 

• When Dee stumbles into the lodge office during a snowstrom, dressed in a hot red dress and thin coat, Jacob notices. He also thinks what she’s wearing doesn’t quite fit the way she looks and acts. Dee tries to hide her amnesia as she tries to remember who she is, but she realizes she has to confide in Jacob if she’s to get his help. 

This was a very good amnesia plot with twists the kept me turning the pages! I loved the characters.
