Please help, Jayne!

I left a blog on the Help forum, but I wasn't sure if you've noticed it.   I can't edit my profile page's avatar or any of the personal information.  It prompts that I'm already registered, and asks if I forgot my password.  Then when I click on it, it tells me I don't have the right permissions to access the page.  I'm so totally lost!  Can you help me?  Surprised  Thanks!

Do you have her email to email her also?

Debbie....

Yeah, I could probably email her regular email.  She might not check in here on the weekends.  Thanks! Smile

I just sent her a message.

If you go to her profile you can send her a message.

Let's hope she checks them daily because I have a slight issue and I hope she gets to it soon.

Jill, who is crossing her fingers

Ack!

I just got an auto reply email.  She won't be back until the second of July.

Jillyan....

Bummer!  This is NOT good.  Surprised  My problem can wait, I suppose, but I hope you can get your situation fixed....

On the job

I got it, I always sweep the boards before I head to bed, so I caught this...

Let's try this work around... I want you to click on the following link and update your personal information by generating a new password. It should be coming from customer_ecare@harlequin.ca and
have the subject line “Your new password for eHarlequin.com” just in case is
appears somewhere.

If you follow these next couple steps, you should be able to
get back in and participating in the community. Please let me know if it fails
to let you in and describe what happens at the step it fails
on.

  1. Go to www.eharlequin.com.
  2. Click on the “Sign In” link in the
top right corner of the page.
  3. Enter your email address and new
password and hit the Sign In button.
  4. It should refresh and take you back
to the homepage, with a “Welcome Amanda!” message in the top right
    corner.
  5. Now go to www.eharlequin.com/talk.html
    by
typing it into the address bar
of your browser. Don’t use the
links on the page! Be sure to type this in your browser.
  6. You should be sent over to your new
    user page on the community.

If this doesn’t work,
please let me know which step it broke down at and what you see when/if it
breaks!

Thanks so much, Jayne!

I'm waiting for my new password, and then I'll go through the process you've given me.  Everyone here on eharlequin is so helpful and friendly.  I LOVE this site!  I've told all my reading friends about it.

Again thanks for your help! Smile

Darn it, if it still doesn't give me the exact same message as before even though I got my new password sent to me from eHarlequin.  I followed every step you gave me.  All went smooth until I tried to edit my avatar again.  I also can't add a signature.

I've noticed that at times when I check into my shopping cart it lists the books I've placed in it, and sometimes when I check my cart it shows up as empty (even when I know I put books in it).  Is it possible I've been somehow registered twice - and I'm butting heads with myself?  Sounds funny, I know, but I can't think of anything else.  Undecided

Congrats on getting the job down and a big thanks to Jayne!

Can't wait to see your new pic. Wink

Nancy

Thanks, Nancy!

I think it takes maybe twenty-four hours before the picture will show up on my buddies blogs.  Anyway, it'll be a good one to print off and hang in your garden to scare away the crows!  LOL  Wink

Please help, Jayne

Hi, Jayne:

I have a slightly different situation, I can edit personal information section, no problem there.

But when I wanted to update the Account Info (such as the time zone, uploading photos) that's where I have a problem.  I got an error message (in red frame) just like what Amanda's said.

Please let me know if I should follow the same steps you'd suggested above, or there is something else I can do.  Thanks.

Orchid

note keeping

Orchid, please follow the steps outlined above and just as you go thru them make a note as you go to see where/if you get stuck.  That way it will help us diagnose where the problem is, BUT the good news is that the steps about should help.  Let me know, I'll respond to your email as well in case you don't think to check back here.

Same-still stuck

Hi, Jayne:

First, thank you for your quick response (I've not got your email yet).

I have followed the steps you listed above, no problem in entering & moving around in this community with the new password.

Except that when I try to edit 'My Profile' - 'Account Settings', changing the 'time zone setting', then I got the same 'error message'.  I get out that screen & went back in to upload a photo, same 'error message' appeared.

Like before, I do not have any problem with the Personal Information section, I purposely made some minor changes in my bio again as a test, & I could update my bio, no error message.

Maybe I have missed something, but not sure what.

Nancy...

I think someone above heard your cry... or then again, maybe it was Jayne or one of our hosties.  At any rate, the duplicate is gone!

Glad to know my twin is a nice woman!  I wouldn't want a diabolical one.  Actually, since she's in seminary she's probably much, much nicer than me!  InnocentWink
