After reading Holly Jacobs' post about all she's doing to get ready to invade Washington DC for the RWA conference (LOL, waving to you, Hall!), I thought I'd post about my much less involved approach. There's no trip to Sam's club for me, LOL.
I'm heading to the mecca of all things wonderful...the mall.
One of my friends, who is going to RWA for the first time, is coming over in a few minutes and we're going to hit the stores together. Not that I really NEED anything, but I love to buy new things for conference every year anyway. I tell myself that everyone remembers everything I wore last year and the year before ;-) And a girl ALWAYS needs new shoes.
(If my husband was reading this, he would tell you about the WALL of shoes I have in my closet...but hey, there's still room on those shelves...I think).
In my defense, I've been working out, too, and the majority of my conference clothes are too big now (pity). I need two cocktail dresses, and only own one now that fits. Need at least one more skirt, because my smallest one is a tad loose. And to go with all that...
Shoes.
Then I'll be off for a manicure, and then the dilemma of packing (how best to get everything IN the suitcase without needing to IRON on the other end of the trip. I HATE TO IRON). If you want to check out the new shoes, stop on by and see me!
On Wednesday, July 15, 5:30-7:30pm: RWA hosts a huge booksiginging. You'll find us in the Marriott's exhibit hall. TONS AND TONS of authors--not just me and Holly Jacobs ;-)
Thursday, July 16, 9pm: Harlequin's Pajama Party!!!Join eHarlequin in Thurgood Marshall South at the Marriott Wardman Hotel.
If you're at the conference, please stop by and say hi! It'll be great to meet fans and friends! (and maybe we can sneak over and steal some of Holly and Susan's chocolate ;-)

Shirley
Shirley,
I love you despite your love affair with malls! I'll confess, I'm not a big shopper. We call my version of shopping, Power-Shopping. I get in, get what I need, get out...right out. More than an hour or so and I start getting hives.
That said, if I must shop, I want deals. A good sale makes shopping almost okay. LOL
But yes, my friend, you always have lovely shoes, lovely clothes...and I'll play the frump next to you anytime! I sooooo can't wait to see you!
