This is the first book I've read by Karen Templeton (yes, I've had a few "firsts" recently!). I picked it up after I listened to the podcast made by Special Edition editors Gail Chasan and Susan Litman (any writers out there who are interested in Special Edition, I highly recommed listening to the podcast). Gail mentioned Karen Templeton as a writer who is very funny and ironic, which, of course, is just the kind of story I like to read (and write), so off I went...
Couldn't find anything of Ms. Templeton's currently in store, so I borrowed this book from the library. I really enjoyed it - lots of funny internalizations from the heroine, Mercy, in particular, and interesting family dynamics. I'm not sure when Ms. Templeton's next book is due for release, but I plan on buying it.
