Warning to anyone who reads this: it deals with sexual abuse, which is an ick factor for many! She's an ice queen model who uses and spits out men. He's the guy she's had a grudge against for four years.. Ever since he refused to help her dying brother. She interrupts his wedding in the middle of the ceremony and makes a scandalous scene as her revenge. He comes chasing after her angry at what she did, demanding an explanation. Turns out... the hero has never MET her before! It was the hero's twin brother who refused to help her. There's an attraction between them and love starts to grow (the hero is very tender towards her and protective, in a strong alpha male manner).
Things start to go rotten though as the caresses/clinches between the hero/heroine reveal that the heroine has repressed memories of sexual assault. The source of those sexual assault memories, the story of how it happened and who it was... is quite nasty. A rough clinch between the hero/heroine is fine, because it always turns out to have feelings of love behind it. But in this case, the heroine has to live with an ugly memory. Poor thing!
Rating: 2/5 stars, it was a well written book, a very good story with great chemistry up until the rape storyline, which was a major ick factor for me. Read other books by this author though, I've really enjoyed a few of the other books I've read by her!
