Provenance

This book brought Annja to life for me...Archer's writing changed somehow so that the image of Annja came across as more womanly...she has girlfriends, etc. Plus there is a scene that is a spoof on Archer himself on page 150 in the description of the reading material that Annja has while sitting on the beach that made me chuckle. There is also a reference on page 164 of Poughkeepsie, where I actually teach. This book made Annja human. She is not so much the focused archaelogist (although she is that) with the Joan of Arc sword but the facets of her personality shine through much more clearly. I really liked her although a little romance here and there certainly wouldn't hurt.

In this book she is searching for a relic that will change the world if it's contents are known. If you need to find the answer to what it is, you will be disappointed. I held my breath the whole time gleaning for clues to what the relic really was but that remains the true mystery. I hated that part but honestly, the plot was just so intriquing that I still recommend it as an excellent read. I need to hunt down the early books so I can learn the whole story.

I also tried to see if there was a web site online for Archer but didn't find one. Don't most writers have a web site now a days? Any info would be appreciated!!!

ever searching...getting there one step at a time lulu
