Wow. That sums it up nicely. The 3rd book in the Raintree trilogy was amazing. I think Beverly Barton did a marvelous job bringing everything together with a fantastic conclusion. I loved all 3 stories. This 3rd book centers on Mercy Raintree and the Raintree homestead, Sanctuary, in the mountains of North Carolina. Mercy is the younger sister to Dante and Gideon. She is an extraordinary empath. The Ansara clan was touched upon in the first 2 books, but this one delves deeper into the history between the Raintree clan and the Ansara clan. Since The Battle, over 200 years earlier, the Raintree and Ansara have been taught to hate each other. The Raintree believe the Ansara to be a very evil clan that has no good. The Ansara have been living on a Caribbean island for the past 200 years and rebuilding their family. In Raintree: Sanctuary we learn more about the Ansara as Mercy’s story unfolds and her “connection” to them is uncovered.
I don’t want to say too much so here’s the synopsis from the back of the book:
The time has come for the Battle to decide the Raintree’s fate… War with their archrival, the evil Ansara clan, is unavoidable. For Mercy Raintree, a war means she must assume her position as the guardian of the Sanctuary-the sacred Raintree home place deep in the Smoky Mountains. But doing so threatens to disclose her most prized secret-one Mercy has kept to herself for six years.
As the solstice looms and the battle heats up, Dranir Judah Ansara gathers his forces, intending to wipe every Raintree from the face of the land. Including Mercy, whom he’s claimed as his to kill. Then he comes face-to-face with her-and with her daughter, Eve. Will Mercy’s closely guarded secret change not only the outcome of the battle…but also Judah’s own bitter heart?

Excited to read this one!!!!
I have read the first two parts of this trilogy and I'm looking forward to reading the last part. From your review it appears that this third book is the best of all three books. I have been curious regarding the Ansara since reading the books and hope to learn more about them. Thanks for the review.
