Zoe loves animals and Grant is about to use that against her. He is watching a cute little hamster running on a wheel as he is assuring it that Zoe will give it a good home.
Zoe is already is deep doo doo with her landlady due to having cats, a large dog, and a goat. Zoe tries to hide the hamster from the landlady, but when the woman sees the rodent she throws them all out.
Even though Zoe is a well respected teacher in the area no one will rent to her and her animals. So since Grant and his hamster caused her all the trouble she decides to move in with him.
The problem is Grant doesn't want to take their relationship past the friendship it has been Zoe's whole life. He makes up rules about staying away from her. He even tries to romance the local well-endowed barmaid.
But eventually the kitchen table overpowers all of Grant's good intentions.
On a 4 star rating scale, this book would be a five. It made me laugh and it made me cry.
This was a special Christmas Harlequin Presents release in December of '07.
