The Rancher's Second Chance by Nicole Foster, SSE, #1841, July 2007 (series: book 2- The Brothers of Rancho Pintada)

Everyone in the town of Luna Hermosa thought Rafe Garrett wasn't good enough for Julene Santiago, even Rafe. So even though he loved her, he pushed her away. 13 years have passed and Jule's father has had an accident and she comes back to Luna Hermosa to take over for him at his vet clinic. But Rafe is experminting with a bison herd at Rancho Pinada and calves are constantly getting sick so it requires the services of a vet, so Jule and Rafe are forced to spend a lot of time together. Even though Rafe has nothing to offer Jule, especially with his adoptive father stating that he will split the ranch 5 ways. Unless he could prove his father was a partner in the ranch. Will he give their love a second chance?

I really enjoyed this story. I like a story with a huge shocker in it and this had a doozy. I was like OMG. This book just shows how hurtful a sentence may be. Halfway through I checked Nicole's website and realized this was part of a series(like I really need another series to hunt down) but luckily it looks as though I'm only missing one book I have book 3 and book 4 isn't released yet. <yippee>
