Reader first

I came onto this site as a reader, with ideas for stories. Then to my delight I found THE WRITE STUFF forum. So I decided that I would start taking part.

I kept poking around on the other forums and found that there is alot of wanna be writers on here. They have WIP and even MS, I'm not close to being there yet. Seeing all the hopefuls made me wonder.... Were any of the authors at Harliquin ever just one of the hopefuls poking around the site?

Oh, heavens, yes.

We have parties here when a community member sells to H/S (etc). It seems like there were a TON of parties in the community last year. Speaking of the parties, I've no idea now where they take place. They were very obvious at the old site.

If you go to the eboutique and "buy" the old round robins -- they're free -- you'll see several people who have since become published whose chapter won. The Round Robins, in case you don't know, are shorts with the first and last chapter written by an established author and each of the other chapters written by unpublished writers. Everyone who wants to sends in their chapter and then I don't know who picks the winner but my point is that when I "bo't" the round robins last spring (when I decided to try reading an ebook), I was going, "Wow! She's established now. And her too! And her too!"

Anyway, I'm sure that a number of us can tell you the "old" community name of some authors. :) And I'm sure that someone(s) will come in and name a bunch of them.

authors who were community members before they sold. I remember Lori's "party"

A couple of months ago Leanne Kenedy sold to both Blaze and Silhouette Romantic Suspense and her books should be out in 2009

Michelle
Willingham, Michelle Styles, Donna Alward, Julie Cohen, Cheryl Wyatt,
Robyn Grady are all other names that spring to mind

And I don't even hang out on that many threads, so I'm sure there are plenty more

Learn to Write feature

Misty,

We're HUGELY proud of the community members who've gone on to sell their manuscripts to Harlequin and Silhouette, Sadhbh has named some, but you'll find a great deal of them featured in The Learn To Write section of the site.  There are well over 20 members at this point who've graduated from aspiring to published author.

Thanks everyone

I was starting to get worried for all the hopefuls. I haven't been on the site for long, but there are so many aspiring writers and alot have sent in MS.  So far noone has sold.
