This is another old one from my TBR pile. I really enjoyed Heather Cochran's previous book, Mean Season, and I wasn't dissapointed in this book either.
At first I thought it was somewhat stereotypical chick-lit (scene with wacky friend in dive bar, challengine relationship with mother, boy troubles) - but as I got into the book, there was 'more' there.
I thoroughly enjoyed the protagonist. She was quirky and odd and didn't always say or do the right things. The story took some turns I didn't expect - at times the subject matter was sadder than I expected. But I loved the ending, which was hopeful, without being trite.

How could I forget?

I'd COMPLETELY forgotten that she wrote Mean Season, I LOVED that book, ok, dusting off my copy of this and moving it up the TBR pile.
