Return to Summerhouse

returntosummerhouseHave you ever read a book, and didn't know you wanted a sequel until you heard one was coming.   For me that book was The Summerhouse.

By now everyone here should know I don't keep books, nor do I re-read.  However, if I did then The Summerhouse(which has recently been re-released) would have made my keeper shelf, and I'd have re-read it numerous times.  So when I heard there was to be a sequel I knew I had to read it, but debated long and hard as to read it for fun or to ask for the ARC from the site for which I review.

Hah...it wasn't really that hard a choice...no way could I wait until July.  I had to have it NOW!  I was good though once it was in my possession and read June review books first.

Again, Devereaux has placed three women who have suffered a truama in a summerhouse in Maine.  However this time only one woman has a card for the mysterious Madame Zoya.  She drages her friends with her, and in fact pays the fee for them and soon they find themselves transplanted not only back int time, but to a totally different era.

What they discover about themselves and their fortitiude in the 1800's will impact their lives in the year 2008.  I was so engrossed in the book that I never said a word about the way Mike was driving on our trip to New Braunfels this past weekend.

So this review might not tell you much about the book, but that's because I don't want to spoil anything.  I want you to be able to enjoy every word the way I did.  Just consider yourselves warned, and don't attempt to read this if you have anything else that needs to be done.  You will not want to set aside Return To Summerhouse to deal with life.

Now we're even.  I'm always jealous of how fast the two of you read, and I'll never ever read that fast...so at least I can gloat that I got to read something you're both wanting to!  LOL!!!

So, guess I'd better find

Summerhouse so I'll be ready for this one when it's available. I had to come over and visit your blog after Sadhbh left a message about a sequel. Of course I didn't know what she was really talking about as The Mulberry Tree was my first read by Jude Devereaux.

Sequels?

Summerhouse and Return to Summerouse are billed as sequels, but other than Madame Zoya there is no link.  I believe both books will stand alone quite readily.
