Romance Reading Meme

I've seen permutations of this one but had time to answer it. :)

Love to see others.

Contemporary, Historical, or Paranormal?
Let's see. Until this winter I would say no to historicals except for
westerns. Not so any more. I'm an equal opportunity reader although
I still lean towards contemporary.

Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market Paperback?

MMP because of price. I buy too many books to want all my books in HB or TP. Plus MMP take up less room.

Heyer or Austen?
I don't believe I've ever read a Georgette Heyer and I loved Austen.

Amazon or Brick and Mortar?
Hmm.. both. Although I'm a I want it NOW so Brick & Mortar works better when I have the time to go to the store.

Woodiwiss or Lindsay?

Never read Woodiwiss and it has been years since Lindsay.

First romance novel you ever remember reading?

I can't say my first romance... not counting teen romances (nurse
hardbounds and I can even picture them in the library). I remember
reading Harlequin (Mills & Boon actually) when I went to visit my
girlfriend when I was in 7th Grade.

Alphabetize by author Alphabetize by title or random?

Books with author unless part of a series.

Keep, Throw Away or Sell?
Keep way too many. Although I'm looking into culling books from kidlets up to me.

Read with dustjacket or remove it?

Leave them on.

Sookie Stackhouse or Anita Blake?

Neither. Never read either.

Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
Chapter breaks or at least section breaks if a long chapter.

"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"?
Both.. depends on my mood.

Crusie or SEP?

BOTH. :)

Buy or Borrow?

Buy.. I really should use the library more.

Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?
Yes...a little of everything. I have some autobuys. I love browsing in the
bookstore or online. I tend to skim book reviews. Will listen to
recommendations from friends who know my tastes.

Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?

I like tidy endings unless I know that there will be another book coming out soon. It is hard to wait for some story arcs.

Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?

Whenever I have time. In the line at Starbucks in the am and at stoplights are two places you could see me reading.

Series or standalone?

Yes... books. :) I love series but give me a good standalone and I'm there.

Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?
Sleep in the Woods by Dorothy Eden

Contemporary, Historical, or Paranormal?
Mostly Contemporary. Some Historical. Not really into Paranormal

Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market Paperback?
MMP, take up less room and are cheaper. If an author has a new book coming out  that I have been looking forward to and it is only out in hardcover or trade size, I'll spudge

Heyer or Austen?
Can't say I've read Heyer but like Austen

Amazon or Brick and Mortar?
need credit card for Amazon, so that's out. Don't get out to the brick and Mortar bookstore. Mostly order online at eharlequin and fictionwise

Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?
A lot of times I don't go by reveiws. I do listen to recommendations from people you know what I'm into. I do a lot of browsing and I have some auto buy authors that I get, or the next book in a series.

Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?

I like tidy endings where everything is wrapped up. Cliffhangers are fine if there is another book in the near future

Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?
When time allows.A lot of time I will read a few chapters in bed before going to sleep and maybe a chapter or two when I get up, in the morning

Series or standalone?

Contemporary, Historical,

Contemporary, Historical, or Paranormal?
All! Depends on the mood.

Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market

Prefer MMPB for the cost and also easier to read in bed

Heyer or Austen?
Haven't read Heyer. I did not like Jane Austen that much when I read her. Medieval Arthurian romance is a better fit for me.

Amazon or Brick and Mortar?
Too much online. Prefer B & M but ever since ther chains took over, more online. I hate places that only carry the latest.

Woodiwiss or Lindsay?

Never read eithger. I am a new romance reader. I think there are a lot of us nw people who would maybe choose unexpected authors that don't fit the classic paradigms.

First romance novel you ever remember reading?

Victoria hOLT AS A CHILD

Alphabetize by author Alphabetize by title or ..

Neither. By reading order, genre and stranger connections having to do with what is inside the book. Signed books and review copies with notes on separate shelves

Keep, Throw Away or Sell?
Keep most of my personal books.

Read with dustjacket or remove it?

Remove.

Sookie Stackhouse or Anita Blake?

Neither. Never read either.

Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
Chapter breaks unless I just crash..

"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"?
Both.. depends on my mood. I prefer mixing dark with light reads.

Crusie or SEP?

Never read either.

Buy or Borrow?

Buy. I am way too much of aklutz to borrow. I hate borrowing library books because I end up paying fines and feel pressured.

Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?
Yes...a little of everything. I like well thought out book reviews but I don't go in for the major book hype either. When everyone is reading a book (like Harry Potter or JR Ward), it sort of dulls the exfitement for me even if they are grreat reads. I like the act of discovery.

Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?

Both. I kind of get a bit bored when everythng is too tied up.

Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?

late night---iut's the only time there is peace for loing stretches of reading with the pets settling in and few distractions

Series or standalone?

I really prefer stand-alones except in a few cases by favorite authors or incredible settings. I feel like the series thing is a big marketing strategy now that everyone is doing it so it bums me out a lot when a new author I might try is a series and I can' just try them without feeling like I have to buy 3 just to try them.
