Ryan's Renovation by Marin Thomas, A. Romance, #1175, August 2007 (series: book 3- The McKade Brothers)
It's time for Ryan McKade to get a life lesson. His grandfather believes Ryan needs a lesson in bravery. Not in the heroic sense, because he was brave in a heroic sense on 9/11. But at 9/11 he was injured and his wife left him. Since then he has become a recluse, shutting himself off from everyone. So for the next three months he will be working a Queens's rubbish removal company(same rules apply as Aaron, he can't go by his real name so he is Ryan Jones). Complete with a bubbly secretary, Anna Nowakowski, who is determined to draw Ryan out of his shell. To interact with the other employees at the company. At first her exorbitant behaviour grates on his nerves but he soon looks forward to her bubbly attitude. Besides being attracted to each other is there something else that draws these two together? His grandfather chose that company for a reason.
I think with Ryan, he would have been the hardest of the three McKade brothers to get a HEA. He feels so much guilt. He is so self conscious. He has been pushing so many people away. He's the kind of man you just want to hug. I really liked this story. Ms. Thomas ended this series beautifully
