well here's the second of the special summaries (you can thank Merri
). I'm not promising to do it for the entire Dream Team, that would be too much like hard work,
because it involves going into every single blog entry to copy the address (if there's a quicker way I don't know it) and copying that into the link in my blog doc, then going to my summary file and copying the title into each link and then copying the file into a post here
Now that I have it up to date, it shouldn't take that much longer to do it as I go for the monthly summary
So enough chat, here's February

Hmmmm....
somehow those instructions sound SO complicated! I'm going to see if I can figure that out this weekend as I really like the summary with links.
The D2K Paranormal Junkies 2008 Challenge Blo
Sadhbh, there is an easier way .......
you have two ways to make it easier .... when you are creating your summary in your own private doc, create two docs ... the first is as you normally do it, just a text list ... in the second, after each text detail of the book, beneath it copy and paste the book review URL for later use
.... at the end of the month, copy and paste your "text" summary in to the "comment" section of a blog entry .... open your other summary that contains the URL's ... copy the first URL .... go back to the "comment" section of the summary you are creating, and highlight the book title, while that is highlighted click on the "linK' icon in the editing tool bar, it's the icon second in from the right ... a small pop up opens, paste in the book review URL that you copied earlier, select "open in a new window" and click submit
repeat the above for all your books .....
or you can use two or more open windows and do the links as you make your summary ... simply copy and paste your text summary and then in the second window go to each book review to retrieve their URL, and then using the highlight method and the "link" icon create your link to the review
this is a tremendous amount of work, no matter how you do it .... esp. for the volume that you are creating
you know we ALL have a summary of sorts on our Profiles .. it's an easy matter of clicking on a "friends" icon on our own Profiles to open the friends page, and then clicking on "more" under "Most Recent Blog Entries" ... this brings up all this person's entries including the book reviews .... that's pretty much what we had on the old site ... and don't forget about the Tags, not just to access the Teams but to access other information
this site isn't so bad once you find the easiest ways to find what matters to you .... I use six basic methods .. Favourites & Recent Posts, the Tags (for Team action), the Book Challenge reviews, Blogs (click on blogs, then under Most Recent Blogs, click on more), and Forums (click on see all Forum discussions) ... usually these five will show me what I want to see without missing very much activity ... then if I'm still curious and have time on my hands, I'll click on "my friends" and see what they've been up to that I might have missed
it's so important to mark discussions and blogs to your favourites ... this makes it easier to see if someone has responded to you .... once the discussion becomes inactive just remove it from your favourites
Sadhbh if you don't mind the extra work that's great ... I just wouldn't want you to put yourself out for a summary only a few may use when they can access this information from your Profile page or from the Dream Team tag

My opinion...
I stated my opinion on the January summary. The site is easy to navigate to find what we want.
Fake Frenchie stated she would like to see the techies take us to the last read post instead of page one, my vote is also for this. We already have tags to lead us to discussions. The more I use the site the more I learn & the easier it becomes to navigate around. Explore!
Take care, happy reading,
Donna M, Dream Team member
I wouldn't want to do it every day, but actually going back over
the titles last night and this morning was fascinating from the pov
of which books I could easily remember and which were a bit more blank
and whether the rating reflected that
Unexpectedly had a
neighbour drop in for dinner so have an exploding head and hyperactive
tired kids who should have been asleep half an hour ago
Work tomorrow - DH gets to build a garage AND mind two active kids on holiday
Hugs
