Saving Destiny by Pat White

Silhouette Nocturne # 27 – November 2007

Dark Enchantments Book 4 of 4

...

The hallucinations and voices that torment her mind create a living nightmare for Destiny Rue. It was predicted that her mother’s insanity would claim her too before she turned 30, and Dee’s darkest fears seemed to be coming true. Especially when she meets businessman Kade Sharpe and strange things begin to happen; things that only an insane person would believe in. Kade is an Ash Demon Warrior. His race had been created from the ashes of Nero’s burning Rome. They are the most highly evolved of the demon world being part mortal. Kade is in the mortal realm to save his brother who was wounded by the P-Cell demon hunters and then saved by the Cadre specialists in a crystal. The Cadre demand that Kade help them bring Destiny to their sanctuary where they will teach her that she is the Crystal Goddess, the great healer. Once Dee reaches her potential, she will have the healing powers like no other, and will be able to heal Kade’s brother while he’s captured within the Cadre’s crystal. Kade has made his own pact with the demon world, that once his brother is healed and released he will turn over Destiny to the dark realm. The more time he spends with Des the stronger their bond. And what of the prophesy, that the Crystal Goddess will collaborate and mate with a great Ash Warrior and balance and peace will come to both realms; the dark and the mortal.

Another awesome read! I couldn’t put this one down! I love Pat White’s tortured hero; though from the dark realm he strived always for honour and integrity. Destiny seemed very weak at the beginning of the book; I loved how she evolved and grew in confidence and self-awareness. Though not as spicy as the others in this series, there a few really hot scenes. This was a very good read, about healing and forgiveness, and love and honour, and of course that on going battle of good over evil. I do so hope there will be other stories to come in the Dark Enchantment series.

March Mini-Challenge ~~ “New-to-Me” ~ #14

  • Pat White – I’m very pleased that Ms. White contributed to the Dark Enchantment series. She has a wonderful voice and she created a compelling story that held me from the first pages. I have several of her Intrigues in my TBR, and I’m very much eager to pull them out, as I am confident I will enjoy them as well. I do hope Ms. White writes more Nocturnes and that once again we will visit the world of Dark Enchantments.

I just found the Dark Enchantments blog ..... what a treat!  ... check it out for some great journals from the heroes and heroines of the series.

Hey Katherine. I've not

Hey Katherine.

I've not read this series yet, not through lack of desire, but because I goofed and didn't order one of the series and I need to read them back to back.

You can read them as stand alones .......

each story is pretty independant but there are some references to the characters in the earlier books .... I hadn't realized there was an online read to the series too, until I read the final book ... I usually like to read those before I read a series

I know what you mean ... when it comes to the mini-series or the linked books I'm pretty anal about reading them in order and pretty much one right after the other ... unless it's a humungous series, then I might break it up abit

you'll love this series!  ... I hope they plan on writing more
