I started reading this and felt like I'd read it before. It wasn't until a few chapters in that I was sure I'd read it a few years ago, but I was into the story again and wanted to find out exactly how it ended.
Mary Higgins Clark writes wonderful mysteries that pull you in into the game of trying to figure out all of the twists and turns. Clark doesn't write a lot of details and setting, but uses the events of the story to keep your attention. This book does not let you down.
Nicholas Spencer is the head of a medical research company involved in the development for an anticancer vaccine. When his plane suddenly crashes and his body is not found, people start to wonder if he is dead or just faked it. The FDA denys approval for the vaccine and huge sums of money are found to be missing from the company.
Carley is a newspaper writer that just happens to be the stepsister of Nick Spencer's wife. When accused of having participated in her husband's scam, Lynn asks Carley to prove that she too is an innocent victim.
