Secretary on Demand by Cathy Williams (HP 2270)

The heroine is a fiesty Irish girl from a big family.  She meets the hero at a restaurant she worked at, where she dumps a hot plate of food on an ex of hers and gets fired.  He follows her, and offers her a job.  She goes to work for him as a secretary and part-time child care provider.  She gets along really well with his young daughter.  She gets to know the hero, the hero flirts with her (a little bordering on sexual harrassment, given it's not normal for the boss to railroad his employee into moving in with him).  They move in together, starting off innocently because she lives in a crappy bedsit.  Soon he puts the moves on her.  She ends up pregnant and runs off because he took her to bed saying that he didn't want to make any promises for their future.  (Silly hero, why do heroes always say that?  Don't they know that will make women pregnant with their babies run off in the opposite direction?)  The hero in this book is quite a nice man, he's not your standard HP alpha hero, he's very human and ordinary, even old-fashioned, but he's still charming and flirty.  Good read.

Rating: 3.5/5 stars, enjoyable, especially if you like secretary/boss stories.   NFM
