Format: Print Books

(Random thought  - the book format, I've been reading a lot of discussions where people ask about ebooks vs. print books - especially authors. And I know this is "ebook week." Some authors have really been pushing the ebooks, and acting as if people who prefer print are dinosaurs. Well, I'm pretty much an infant, and I love print books. Call me a throw back (ironic) - but I like print books, dammit. I'm all about going green too, and I feel bad about killing trees but ... I love me some print books!) *sad*

Ok, now what you've been waiting for. This story is about Brittany Garrison and Emilio Jefferies. If you've read any of The Garrisons books, you'll know the Garrisons and Jefferies are bitter rivals. Each family owns huge parts of South Beach, and are the other's main competition.

Brittany owns a restaurant - Brittany Beach, which is an up and coming SoBe hot spot. However, her accountant embezzled $2 million from her, and she needs a way to recover the funds fast. Enter Emilio, who offers to front her the money in exchange for a 50% interest.

I think what bothered me about this book was that, well, Brittany was an idiot. Not so much about the books - I can see that happening, although I feel if one were running a major business they should be a bit more aware so $2 mil can't be embezzled. Emilio plans to take Brittany Beach away from Brittany, and therefore the Garrisons.

Of course, the two fall in luurve and Brittany finds out about the plan. All hell breaks loose, and well, you get the picture.

A huge part of the plot was that Brittany didn't know about the rivalry between her family and the Jeffries. Please. That annoyed me. Also, if Brittany is so business savvy - how did all this happen? Grr. I read this book as part of the series but, unfortunately that's the main draw for me here.
