Wow, another action filled Annja Creed tale! The exotic locations make this a fun one to read. I came into this series at book #7, then read the first two, and now this one, #10.
Serpent's Kiss is more action and danger and doesn't have the contemplative nature of book #2, Solomon's Jar. Annja Creed doesn't encounter the kind of situations where she has to decide between good or evil as much in this book. This makes for a fast paced story, and the remote settings make you wonder what bits of history might still live in remote, unknown parts of the world.
The story starts out centuries in the past with a book in an ancient city, a book leads the modern search for antiquities, and it ends with more ancient books! The author must love books :-)

I'm going to read a Rogue Angel between each of the other books I read until I'm caught up :-) They are so much fun to get lost in!
