Sex, Lies, and Online Dating by Rachel Gibson, 2006

The dating scene can be deadly, there are three bodies to prove it!

Lucy is doing research for her latest novel.  She has been meeting men online to get a true sense of what is happening in the popular "online dating" world.  As she enters Starbucks she looks for a man with a red baseball cap but he must be running late.  Finally about 10 minutes later hardluvnman walks in.  Lucy just needs one more victmin for her novel, dead.com.  So far she has killed off two of her other dates, only on the pages she has written.

Even though her date is late she knows right away she is not going to kill this guy off, he is way to hunky and she is wondering why he would seek dates online.  While getting acquainted she learns that hardluvnman, a plumber, is trying to get back out in the world as his wife died six months ago.  Lucy thinks maybe he is trying to soon.

hardluvnman is really a Boise city cop working on a case the department has dubbed "Breathless".  What little information they have leads to suspect a female serial killer that leaves no DNA, no clues of any kind other than all the men have been killed while handcuffed to a bed, naked and suffocated with the plastic wrap from a cleaners.  The only thing in common all three men seem to have is meeting the woman online.  The killer seems to be really smart in regards to police procedure and choosing her victmins.  Each of the men have been killed in their own home.

Neither Lucy or hardluvnman have told each other the truth.  As the investigation proceeds Lucy finds out Quinn is not a plumber but a cop investigating the murders mentioned in the paper.  When she finds out she is a suspect she is beyond unhappy with Quinn, refuses to see him or help in any way until she starts receiving letters that appear to be from "Breathless".

Rachel Gibson knows how to write an interesting, but sometimes humorous, mystery/romance.  A good read all around.

DONNA!! ~~ You don't need to have that many books over there cluttering up your house.  Some must be taken care of.   First things first:  Give some to me!!
