Shadow Dance
This book did not start off well. Too many characters were introduced that I had trouble keeping straight. (I THINK the characters might have been introduced in a previous book????).
Another issue I had with the entire book was the excessive use of passive voice--10 instances within the first two paragraphs of the first page. The passivity was so bad, I put the book down. A few hours later I picked it up to see if it would get any better.
The book did get better as I read although the author continued to introduce many many many characters that IMHO weren't necessary to the plot of the book at all. In fact--if less time was devoted to giving these character's descriptions/scenes more time could be devoted to delving deeper into the two main characters, Jordan and Noah.
By the time I got into the book and got a clear sense of who these two people were--the book was over. But I did go back and re-read the last fifty pages or so because they were particularly well-written-- at least, compared to the rest of the book.
Would I read this book again? Not without reading the first of this series (if it is a series). Would I buy the first in this series--not at full price. Maybe at a yard sale.

It is a series, I think the books are Heartbreaker, Mercy, Killjoy, Slow Burn and Murder List.

You made me do research
You made me do research. Shadow Music is set in Scotland back in the day of arranged marraiges and claymores and family feuds. It is there that two families get involved in a feud caused by Princess Gabrielle of Biel. Since the next book is Shadow Dance and refers to an old family feud, I would imagine that they read as a series. Julie Garwood is a fave author which I usually auto buy. I have had issues with a few of her books. I have enjoyed the books Cady listed but did not check to see if they all intertwined. Thanks for the review.
