• Bailey is mistakenly involved in a kidnapping when the baby wanted by the kidnappers is temporarily in her care. The kidnappers think she’s the mother and take her and the baby into the desert to wait for the ransom. Bailey is Navajo but has lived her entire life, except for summer visits to her grandmother’s home on the reservation, as the spoiled daughter of a rich father in the big city.  

• Hunter is the best tracker in Navajoland, and probably anywhere. He’s sent out to track the kidnappers. The fact that he and Bailey had a relationship in college that didn’t work out only  makes him work harder to find her. He knows what could happen if she falls into the hands of the evil Skinwalkers. 

An exciting adventure, most of this story was chasing through the desert. I love out door suspense stories and this one really took me out there. 

Bailey and Hunter’s conflict comes from the fact that she’s a city Navajo and he’s a traditional Navajo. She misunderstands his Navajo ways as being that he’s not interested in her. He doesn’t believe she could ever live on the rez.
