Sadly, I will have to admit that this is the only Dry Creek Series book I have read. So far. But, I can say it will not be the last. I loved this Christmas story. I can't wait to read the next ones in this series and I hope to find some of the earlier releases to "catch" up. Dry Creek is a town that everyone would love to live in and the characters are just like your friends. This story is Marla and Les's story. It is another page turner and the internal conflicts of both main characters are very believable and understandable. I really felt that the concern over gang involvement was a genuine concern for most parents and I could empathize with Marla over her fears for her son. Les is just the type of man who could calm those fears and one that a woman could depend on. This is a wonderful book and I plan to read more of Janet's heartwarming stories soon!

I think this was my favorite
I think this was my favorite Love Inspired of the 2007 season! I did laugh-out-loud in a few places--something I rarely do. My favorite part was the misunderstandings between the 2 cultures -- for example when she thinks there must be a drug problem in Dry Creek because the sheriff walks the street every morning, and how he thinks she must be hiding something terrible because she doesn't let her kids out of the house (because she is afraid there is a drug gang on the loose outside). Perhaps because I live not so very far from Marla's LA home, I can relate more.
