Silent in the Grave

Raybourn's debut novel is a stellar achievement in Victorian murder mysteries, skillfully painting the setting in bold, vivid strokes, while realisitically portraying a collection of quixotic relatives and strong-willed female characters. The sparks fly between the hero and heroine and the sexual tension between them is palpable. She is an instant favorite and I look forward to the rest of her Lady Julia Grey books. Highly recommended for lovers of historicals, mysteries, and romance!
