Commander Darius McCain and ship superintendent Amy Russell are trapped aboard the "Hartford" as it is hijacked.  The two of them must use their wits to save the ship and outfox the terrorists.  Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Sarah Connelly and Commander Bruce Dunn are trying to learn the details of the hijacking and stop a terrorist attack.  It is the day before the Presidential elections.

The book is too technical in many places, especially the beginning, for me to follow (I have trouble concentrating) but the tension in the sub as McCain and Amy try to outwit the terrorists is very real, as is the tension once Sarah and Dunn start to unravel secrets leading to a totally shocking ringleader.  If you want a spell-binding mystery, this one's it!  It is also intentionlly, or unintentionlly, a thought provoking commentary of our current state of government and its role in terrorism.  I give it an A*. Cool

I really enjoyed this story...

...but then Jan Coffey is on my favourites list.  I especially loved the One-Two-Three stories.  Alas, they ended at Five, but they're also very good romantic suspense.
