Simon Says

Slightly larger than life characters, but a good read nonetheless!

Dakota and Simon were physically perfect, athletic, and intelligent. And while it's nice to read about such 'perfect' people every once in a while--a few more flaws for the two would have been nice.

Not only is Dakota physically perfect, she is a survivor of abuse, a subject that I didn't feel was adequately addressed. It didn't quite ring true according the the character portrayed by the author. She painted a picture of a strong, smart, sexy, and CONFIDENT 23 year old woman. IT was almost as if the abuse was added to the story as an afterthought. Dakota did not come off as an abuse victim--especially if she had been abused at so young an age as the author claims.

But this book has more redeeming qualities that make it a book I plan to keep. The writing was very crisp and active, the characters were all relatively distinct, the action was interesting and entertaining, and the dialogue was great.

While not the best book I've ever read, I doubt I'll be trading this one in for a long time to come!

great review

You did a good job in breaking this book down and I liked the way you did it.  It can be difficult to read a book when the story just doesn't add up.  You can enjoy the peripheral story but the other pieces need to add up too.  I had issues with a Blaze not too long ago with a marraige therapist/ sex therapist having sex with a client even if he was an old boyfriend. It is morally wrong for a therapist to do that.  It threw the reading of the story off even if I did like the H & h and their antics.

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!

Yes, it is hard sometimes,

Yes, it is hard sometimes, to reconcile the characters with their supposed past.
