Back cover blurb: There are only two things Garrett McQuire cares about: raising his son and keeping the law in Applegate, North Carolina. Then Samantha Weston moves to town, stirring up the locals and putting him to the test…as a cop, a father and a man.
He's pretty darn sure the alluring llama trekker isn't who she seems. But once he uncovers the secret that's got her on the run, can he keep Samantha—the woman he wants more than anything to stay—from fleeing yet again?
I started reading this sometime last week but life distracted me. Fortunately both life and the pup cooperated last night and I was able to finish it. It was a pleasant surprise. Garrett and Samantha were both really deep characters, they fit well together and I think Ms. Frazier did a beautiful job of incorporating both Garrett's son, Rory and Samantha's recovery from alcoholism. It was a well balanced, sweet story. I really REALLY wanted to smack Samantha's parents in the face a LOT. If my parents ever tried to disrespect me and my wishes that way I'd likely never speak to either of them again. I realize that they didn't understand fully what Samantha was going through and what she needed but still...they could have tried listening to her.
Anyway, it was a great book and I enjoyed it a lot.

RE: SINGLE-DAD SHERIFF by Amy Frazier
Jana ~~ have had this in me TBR pile for a couple months now and have just gotten around to reading it. NOT YOUR TYPICAL story is what I have to say about it! With the story-line, it could have been soooooooooooo cliched (which was what I was expecting), but Ms. Frazier instead has written a believable, "down-to-earth" story about real people and their life-choices.
